Pastor Geston "GP" Pierre
Pastor Geston "GP" Pierre believes that every person has a story worth hearing and a purpose worth discovering.
Born in Naples, Florida GP's passion for serving people was sparked there in the sunshine state. Throughout his ministry, he has preached, spoken, sung and served in communities across the United States and internationally, sharing a message of hope, compassion, and practical faith.
Today, GP serves as the Lead Pastor of New Life SDA Church in Hampton, where he is passionate about building a church that serves its community through collaboration. Under his leadership, New Life has become known throughout Hampton Roads for its compassion ministries, community partnerships, and commitment to meeting both spiritual and practical needs.
GP holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Theology from the esteemed HBCU, Oakwood University and a Master of Divinity from Andrews University Theological Seminary.
Beyond the pulpit, GP is an active community leader throughout Hampton Roads. He serves with organizations including Virginia Humanities, the Peninsula Agency on Aging, the Hampton NAACP, the United Way Emerging Leaders Society, 200 + Men of the Virginia Peninsula and many other civic initiatives dedicated to strengthening neighborhoods and improving lives.
He is also one of the visionaries behind The Compassion Project, a collaborative movement that unites churches, nonprofits, healthcare providers, schools, businesses, and local government to serve communities through generosity, hope, and compassion.
Whether preaching, producing podcasts, speaking at conferences, or partnering with local organizations, GP's heart remains the same: helping people discover that they are seen, valued, loved, and created for a greater purpose.
His favorite reminder is simple: "Every person is just a name until you know their story."
Pastor GP and the New Life family look forward to welcoming you and yours. We hope to meet you soon!
